Cool Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013

I just downloaded and installed 5.09 today on Windows 8 system. I was pleased to see it built my database for me, but it left out a song.

This brings up a new question as how many more songs did the program not bring into the database.

Should I manually remove the KMH files and text file and import those in the folders that I am aware of?

Did you get any message that some songs were not imported ?
It may be that they are in the quarantine folder.
Open Hoster go to Tools/Hoster Data folder and look in the quarantine folder. Files that error now go into here.

No messages other than "Hoster had a problem and has to close"

Did the Hoster must close message appear while the database was building ?
Have you looked in the quarantine folder like I asked ?
If your songs are on an external drive, was it connected while it was rebuilding ?

The message did appear and Hoster did close down when building the Database.

There are no songs, KMH, KMA or Zip songs in Quarantine folder.

Re: Hoster 5.09 Has been released May 28, 2013

This is what I would try first:
If your music is on an external drive make sure it's connected.
Open Hoster, from the Tools menu select Songs database/Build Database check down the list of folders is listing all your song file paths.
Then press the rebuild database button.
As it starts the dialog opens will say something like building xx songs of xxxxx amount, note what the of amount is because that is how many songs it's trying to import.

Then see if the same problem occurs as before, try to note how many songs it gets to before closing.
If it builds without a problem the dialog at the end should tell you so or tell you x amount did not and where to look.

Thanks Roy
My database is great now with this program. I fretted for years with the old ones.

What about disc indexing? What should it be set to and could that be a problem?
