Re: hoster program is closing

My PC has Norton loaded (from the factory) on it but it has not been activated, I don't run a spyware program on my work pc. The only time I go on line with it is to download updates to my Hoster program.

So what about when you do all the Windows updates or haven't you done them ?
There is always a chance of a virus.
I think it could be a bit iffy not having any spyware, you can always turn it off when not online.
and there are some free ones available such as AVG.

Now this raises another question did this start after going on line ?

Yes I do the updates, never gave that one a thought. Probably should activate a spyware program, just not a big fan of Norton. I believe the last time I was on line with that pc was to update the Hoster song database, which was about 2-3 days before I played last night.

Yes, try the AVG free one you can google it. Mtu updates should be safe but you never know how some viruses start.
Then let it do a full scan and see if it finds anything.

Although unlikely it is possible to pick up a virus if you play files from other peoples disks or usb sticks.

I don't know if a system restore to a date before your last update would cure this if it was anything to do with your last update but if it doesn't you can always return back to this existing time.

Re: hoster program is closing

Yea, good thought, I'll try to download a virus program Monday since I have to play twice more this weekend, I don't want to chance it right now. I have access to Norton free thru my cable provider so I'll probably just download it thru them. I'll let you know if it changes/helps the problem.
Appreciate all your time and patience.
