Re: hoster program is closing

I work often and just can't tolerate the shut down situation any longer . Ive been plenty patient. I at least now know i'm not alone in this. I hate to go back to 3.321 and my old xp computers but those are the only work horses that i can bank on. I won't be upgrading in the near future, not until the bugs are dead. This really should be sovable. Can't figure out why this is happening at all.

Neither can MTU and you are in a minority of users that are having this problem, which MTU has tried and cannot duplicate. It may be solvable but if you can't duplicate it then you have no idea where to look.

Re: hoster program is closing

Dale,

I don't agree that we're in the minority, just the minority reporting it.

I had stopped reporting it because I had nothing new to add and because I understand Computers and you have got to be able to recreate the problem to find it.

As I have said before, "you got to be able to catch the bug before you can kill it!"

Try as I may, I cannot correlate it to any time or happening and believe me I've tried!

It does not happen on any frequency that is explainable. I have literally documented the times it's stopped (time, song, etc.), but the same incident never occurs twice, so I stopped documenting and just accepted that it's going to happen.

Sometimes I go two or three shows and it doesn't happen, then it will appear and may happen once or twice a show! I've had it stop in the first 15 minutes and stop in the last 15 minutes and all in between. It just doesn't stop with any rhyme or reason!

I thought duriing the summer it might be heat related, but it's still happening, and where I play, there is no heat in the back of the building, so it's pretty cool (I have to wear a jacket at times).

I do believe that MTU is trying to reslove it, but it's not something easy to do. Read through the Posts, and as with me, you'll see that no one has been able to pinpoint the problem or correlate to any one happening or a particular computer or operating system.

Believe me if it was a large number of people they would be reporting it either here or through the Support Tickets. I do read through the posts in fact I read everything posted in these forums. I also am in constant touch with the staff at MTU so I usually know what they are doing to try to find this as well.
I was not trying to make it seem like this was a small problem, but that trying to figure out why it is happening is not easy. If it was a larger base of users having this problem then it would be a lot easier to pinpoint the cause.

Re: hoster program is closing

Just a shot in the dark to try and find a common denominator here, what settings have you regarding your Tools/Audio Controls Fade in and Fade out.?
Also the Tools/Remove Silence Before audio starts & After Audio ends ?
Are any of them set to zero ?
I ask this as I had a problem with video crashing when I had the audio settings set to zero. After increasing these settings the problem disappeared.

Re: hoster program is closing

Audio Controls: Fade in - .5 ; Fade Out – 4.0

Remove Silence: Normal Play Mode (don’t use Remove Silence)

Do not use BA at all...

Re: hoster program is closing

Probably won't make any difference, but just try it for a night with fade in at 1.5 . The problem I had was if I stopped a video and started another one too quick it crashed. Raising my fade in to 3.0 and out to 1.0 cured it.
