Re: corrupted kma files

Mine just don't play, and change the "cue" to "Error". Can't play them in the Edit Songs app, either.

Re: corrupted kma files

I get both from time to time. Not sure why, but with 29000 songs, I just can't go thru them to verify their condition.

Re: corrupted kma files

I talked to Admin today about this. There is nothing that can be done to check those which have the glitches on screen. Those are usually coming from the disk and even though Hoster can work miracles with scratched/dirty disks it can't stop all of them. We some that just won't import totally clean. Some of that just has to be lived with or get a new disk to replace the bad one. This could also be corruption of the file, though I can't say I have seen any that I can blame on that.
However, if it is a case of it erroring out and jumping to the next song then this would be a header problem. What he said was that it may be possible for them to add a utility to the Edit to go through and check/correct bad headers. This way you could check for any of these problems.

Only thing I can say for the screen problems is to apologize to the singer explaining that you will try to get it corrected for next time, then re-import them as you find them.

I would highly recommend too that you periodically run the thorough Checkdsk to make sure the drive isn't having problems.

Re: corrupted kma files

The edit check on the header info would certainly identify files that won't play. I have had some which play but nothing shows up on the screen and I have had some which start playing and just stop (usually right at the beginning). So if checkin the header info will catch bad files, I'm all for it.
