I tried the Playback Offset first, it's off as much as 10 to 15 sec sometimes so thats not helping. I tried your second suggestion, and I thought it worked but only for the first three songs I played, then started doing it again on the forth.
I'v also found that it does it even if you are playing the same song over and over. Tim
