Are you trying to get it to recognize your disk automatically? Try this - once you've put in your disk, just use the DropDown Menu & pick the Disk ID, then it will fill in all the rest of the information for you.

doesn't work....
not even recognizing that I put a disk in to play it.
I tried the import hard disk drive and it came up as Hoster application error and then shuts down Hoster....

I really would like to restart from scratch......this is getting most ridiculas.
:(

can u tell I'm frustrated....it's like something went wrong w/the program itself.

Disks vs HD files

Michelle, are you importing from CDG or files off your hard drive? If you are importing files off your hard drive, read the whole screen. There is a check mark on that screen that hides files already imported. That check mark saves a text file to the location that you are importing from and keeps track of the previously imported files. You can either un-check it, or delete the .txt file from the location.

After going back and re-reading your posts, that is what it sounds like. Just like going to the doctor, you have to let them know EXACTLY what is wrong. When you said you are downloading disks, you were getting answers based on the assumption that you were loading CDG disks. After looking back on your posts, it sounded to me more like hard drive files.

For later reference and to keep things clear in the forum
Downloading is transferring a file over the internet to your computer
Importing is when use Hoster to add the songs to your system.
This can be done in a number of ways the 2 most common are:
Importing from disk this is when you put a CDG disk from the store in your CD/DVD drive and use the import from disk option
Importing fom Hard Drive this is when you use files already on you hard drive like MP3+G or ZIP files.

I don't want to sound mean here. I am just trying to help you. There are lots of people here to help. They just need to know exactly what you are having trouble with. You will usually get an answer within the hour if not sooner. In my opinion, this is the BEST user forum I have ever been on. There are people with a wide range of technical knowledge about computers and an even greater number of people who are expert at Hoster. They are all willing to help at a moments notice. The only thing we ask in return is that when you become a pro at using Hoster, and YOU WILL, that you come back here and return the favor to the next generation of new people.

you mean system restore right ? if you just rebooted you should still have hoster exe.hoster setup , now if you did a system restore before you had hoster that's gone, you have to submit a ticket to mtu and have your reg. re-set, if you don't you wont get to load hoster back, you'll get an error msg " already installed in 2 comp. "

Do you mean you used Windows "System Restore"? If so, then make sure ALL MTU required updates have been done - THEN, re-install Hoster. Be sure to restart your computer, both before & after. Then make sure Hoster recognizes your CD-ROM. You should be good to go after that (I have used Restore before instead of "un-installing on-line" and was able to re-install on the same machine.) Although, it is possible, that since you did not un-install Hoster first, that you may have to re-set the Registration. Try it & see, since you have already done the "Restore".

I'm not online with this....I have a dial up on my reg computer....
can't get the wifi to connect w/out some sort of password I don't have...
and it would take forever and a day to 'try to reinstall' from online.
Can't they just send me a disk??????
it's so hard to even contact these people.
I'm done for the day...it's giving me a major headache!

Michelle, we must have both been typing at the same time, so I didn't see this post. Are you saying that you bought a compuer from MTU with Hoster already installed on it?
BTW - "SystemRestore" also allows you to UNDUE your restore - that way you can put your computer right back to the way it was.

DON'T "FREAK" - like I said, if you used "System Restore" - it can be UNDONE and your computer will be right back where it was before. That does not require you to be on-line. It is a "Windows" function.

If you in fact "restored" your computer back to an earlier date, you do it the exact same way - go to "Start\Accessories\SystemTools\SystemRestore". You should be able to pick the date & time that you did the Restore and undue it.

I just left a not so nice email to the mtu ticket people...I'm sick of them...
why should they get paid when it's the forum that really helps...?

I'll let you know....maybe I'll try to then restore it to a date that maybe I screwed it up....

SIGH>>>>>.....

thank you...

Michelle, please understand that you are NOT "restoring" your computer again. Now you want to UNDO what you did. Please read the "SystemRestore" instructions carefully before pressing anything.

As to MTU - first of all, it's Thanksgiving. How many other companies do you know that are even working? We pay MTU for creating these programs & making thousands of customers happy by constantly upgrading & incorporating our ideas into their new programs. Their Support, in my opinion, is the best of any company I have ever worked with in the past 30+ years. However, if they had a large support department that does nothing but answer our e-mails & phone calls, I am sure MTU's programs would be a lot more expensive than they are. Frequently there are users on this Forum who are more than happy to take their time & help. Admin. does read the Forum & will jump in and help or respond to you directly, whenever necessary.
