Re: pioneer 107

The test trys to see if the drive will answer back on the .cdg format, which your pioneer did to show Yes. But then when we actually send the command to the drive for it to read the CD+G format, it is not working. There are some drives that have done this, they fake that they support CD+G, and then when you actually ask for it to give you the data, it can't. Nothing can be done for the drive, other than to replace it.

This is why we have the Demo versions so that you can download and actually test to see if your drive is going to work or not, and not just show Yes.

I have the Pioneer DVR-108 and Microstudio says yes, but it won't play just like yours. I bet you your model is like mine and it does work with cdg, try audiograber to extract in bin and than play it using Micro, I get a perfect graphic with mine! Also, it does work on another software for direct cdg reading btw!

PS - Make sure to have the latest firmware on your Pioneer before doing this test.

Re: pioneer 107

We will start Microstudio 3.000 beta testing this week. It uses an entirely different reading/writing method so it should be able to use almost any CDROM/CDR/DVDR drive for CDG.

We are very excited about this upgrade. This feature has been under development for a long time, and is now working. It will allow reading and duplicating Multisession discs also, so all tracks can be read in directly.

It will be a free upgrade to anyone who has purchased Microstudio after Jan 1, 2005. It will be $15 otherwise.
