Re: unable to open singer database

Try this:
Open your C\MTU\Hoster folder find the singers.mdb and tempory rename it to Singers2.mdb. Then find the singers_backup.mdb and rename that to singers.mdb.
Now see if Hoster opens alright.

Re: unable to open singer database

I don't have a singers_backup file I only use this at home anymore, not for shows so I don't use any singers list on mine. But thanks for giving me something to try.

Re: unable to open singer database

As you don't have any singers open the C\MTU\Hoster folder and just delete the singers.mdb .

Then restart Hoster and see if it opens OK.

If it doesn't find the singers.mdb it will rebuild a new empty one.
I did not tell you to do this in first post just incase you lost all your singers data.

Even if you only use it for yourself it can be handy for storing all your own songs in for easy retrieval, just a tip not a must, you use it at you find best.

Re: unable to open singer database

Are you using the latest version of Hoster with your Windows 8 system ?

If so and the previous post didn't work, a couple of things you can try:
1) Try restoring your computer to a time before the problem started, see if that helps.
2) If that doesn't help re-download the software and install again, I say re download just in case you got the very first release of 5.08 that had a bug in it, try restarting if you get the same message open C\MTU\Hoster folder again, this time delete both Songs.mdb and singers.mdb then restart Hoster.
If your music files are stored on an external drive be sure to have it connected before starting Hoster for the fist time after deleting the songs.mdb as it will start rebuilding the database before opening.
