Microsoft access

both questions pertain to MS access:

is there a way in MS Access to change the case on all the song names at one time?

is there a way to delete a blank space before the song name begins (by this i mean some songs the spacebar was hit before typing the first letter) i want to delete all the blank spaces with one click.

It really would be better to do all your editing from within Hoster. That way the database will be corrected & new songbooks will also show all your changes.

Re: Microsoft access

i do do all my edititing through hoster, but there are to many songs to correct 1x1

why wouldnt it change in the songbook if i edit through access
? its still the database.

im not so worried about the change case because i can edit that in word.

As I stated above, if you ever rebuild Hosters database all your changes would be lost because Hoster builds its database from the headers in the song files.

Re: Microsoft access

Not recommended but,
You can remove leading spaces in Access by selecting the column then use find and replace. From the Match selection drop down box select Start of field, in the find enter a blank space, in the replace leave blank then hit replace all. If you try this bear in mind that if you ever rebuild the songbook all the changes will be lost.

However as Skybird stated, it is best to do all your editing in Hoster Edit dialog, if you click on a column header all the leading spaces will appear at the top for you to manually edit them one at a time but the change will be permanent.

You can change the case easy for your songbook in Microsoft Word processor.
It depends on your version of word but in my Word 2000 that I still use, from the format menu is an option for change case, I always select "Sentence case" this will change the whole book in a matter of minutes.

it seemed to work ok, it took me a moment to figure out the enter a space in the find field, cause when i deleted the entery it wouldnt let me replace all.

will it apply to the songbook now ?
