Hoster Not Playing Audio Songs
Something is not letting me play mp3's or wma's through Hoster. The play light lights up but the timer does not move and no audio. Using 4.31
Any ideas? Thanks, Kelly ![]() |

There were no reported problems with Audio while testing. Are you "adding" through the Audio button, or are these kma's? |

Re: Hoster Not Playing Audio Songs
What operating system are you using?
Is it just Audio files and are these imported or from the Audio button on the main screen? Are these audio files imported to the computer through Windows Media Player? Have you checked the Audio Controls and make sure the correct Audio Card is chosen?

Re: Hoster Not Playing Audio Songs
Windows XP.
Yes. From the audio button. They are mostly wma files. Some mp3's. And yes they were imported using Media Player. They are on the same external drive as my kma files. Just a different folder. They seemed to have stopped working with Hoster 4.30. Kelly |

Re: Hoster Not Playing Audio Songs
All I know is that I had tried importing some with WMP. WMP would not let them play on anything except WMP. It has to do with the DRM settings. Others have told me they had no problem, but I did. So I always import them with Microstudio, then convert them from WAV to WMA or MP3 with Songverter. If there is a setting in WMP to turn off I can't find it.

This is printed in media player help files: What happens if I decide to copy protect music that I rip? If you copy protect the tracks that you rip from a CD, then you will need media usage rights to play, burn, or sync the ripped files. If you copy the files to another computer and try to use them, you might be prompted to download media usage rights for that computer. You can download media usage rights for ripped files only a limited number of times. If you intend to use your ripped music on multiple computers, don't copy protect the files. If you want to limit the distribution of any songs that you rip, turn on copy protection before ripping. You can't remove copy protection from a file once it has been applied. Copy protection is available only when you rip music to the Windows Media Audio (WMA) format. Roy. |

Re: Hoster Not Playing Audio Songs
I take it they still play in Windows Media player?
As Dale suggested From the Tools Tab/Audio controls check your Playlist Audio card is showing correct and if there is anything showing in the search audio panel try swapping them over. Roy. |

Re: Hoster Not Playing Audio Songs
Yes they'll play in Windows Media. I'll check on the other card. And what is really weird, last night all of a sudden one song did play, but when I stopped it and tried to load it and play again, it didn't.
Thanks for the advice guys. I'll try it again when I get home from work. Kelly |
