Problem w/Hoster changing drive drivers

I downloaded the trial version of Hoster yesterday and immediately my computer wouldn't show external drive letters. Error message said that drivers were corrupt or missing to which there seemed to be no fix. I have been workling on this problem and found a way to fix it which follows in detail. Even though I uninstalled Hoster, the problem remained until I performed the following. Hope this helps......seems like the Hoster program installs a lower filter which causes this problem. After you remove it, works fine:

Step 1: Start Registry Editorchemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. Registry Editor starts.
Step 2: Delete the UpperFilters registry entry
1.
In Registry Editor, expand My Computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
2.
Expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet.
3.
Expand Control, and then expand Class.
4.
Under Class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
5.
In the right pane (topic area), click UpperFilters.

Note An UpperFilters.bak registry entry may also appear. To delete the UpperFilters registry entry, you must click UpperFilters and not UpperFilters.bak.

6.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
7.
When you receive the following message, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the UpperFilters registry entry:
Are you sure you want to delete this value?
The UpperFilters registry entry is removed from the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry subkey.

Note Do not exit Registry Editor. You must have this program for the next step.

Step 3: Delete the LowerFilters registry entry
5.
In the right pane (topic area), click LowerFilters.

Note An LowerFilters.bak registry entry may also appear. To delete the LowerFilters registry entry, you must click LowerFilters and not LowerFilters.bak.

6.
On the Edit menu, click Delete.
7.
When you receive the following message, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the LowerFilters registry entry:
Are you sure you want to delete this value?
The LowerFilters registry entry is removed from the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry subkey.
8.
Exit Registry Editor.
Step 4: Restart the computer
If a CD recording program no longer works after you restart the computer, you must reinstall the CD recording program.

Don't think it is Hoster that installs the lower filter but clashes with the one that is installed. Roxio and Nero both modify this when they install and the original is a Microsoft installed control. If Hoster installed it then everyone would have this problem and that isn't the case.
Good find though. Maybe Admin needs to add this to the Knowledgebase so everyone can find it.

Dale, I downloaded Vidio Hoster again and the same thing happened .....the lower filter is back. I have removed it again. Now when I try to import a disk through my Plextor E drive, I select CD+G and it loops around and locks up. I have read the manual and don't understand how to bring this Billboard karaoke CD+G disk into the trial version of Hoster. I would appreciate any help you may give me.

Select Import from CD instead of selecting Import from Hard Drive on the main screen. Took me a minute to find what you were doing.

Double Marquee sounds like Video settings or driver.
Do you have all the Custom Upgrades from Microsoft? SP3?
