Having Skip Problems With Songs
I have been running all the hoster software versions from my Dell Inspiron 9200 for almost two years without any problems. Even when I transferred all the KMA files to an external hard drive I was fine. One day I am doing a show and towards the end of the Karaoke song, it all of a sudden would skip once. What is really odd is does not do this on every single song. I have no idea what could cause this probem. One note, I also run the same exact progaram on my old Dell Inspiron 9100 with no skip problems. I am currently running the latest verson, 3303. I could use some advice.

I would say that it might be something going on at that point when it skips on your system. See what other programs are running.
You might also update your drivers for the sound card to see what happens with this.

you know, i did loose my sound driver after I had Dell replace the mother board and had to redownload the driver, but I believe I was having this skip problems before that. What is really odd is it doesn't do it on every single song. Most songs it does. I could reset the time on the computer, but it was months ago. I am running the Karaoke on my Dell 9100 currently and running my Ots DJ program on the Dell 9200. I have no skip problems with the Ots DJ program. Very interesting, isn't it. It may have something to do with the graphics portion of the program.
Any replies will be appreciated. Joe H |

For a skip in the sound to occur, the only thing that I can think of is that something is going on in the system at that point that caused the audio to drop. Maybe something is taking the processor over for a second or however long the skip is.
Not much you can do for this, but to figure out what is causing it to happen when it occurs.

Read the Hoster Manual Troubleshooting Guide topic on preventing audio dropouts. There are several suggestions you should do to your computer to prevent audio dropouts.

When I have a person singing and I do a search during their number, the first time I do the search it cause the current song playing to skip. Then I can continue to search, and it doesn't skip. But it skips every single time i do my first search during somone's song. Also, if I try to import a cd while a person is singing, it totally wrecks the song playing, cg and everything.

See...using the word IMPORT interchangably to designate either Importing to the Database or TEMPORARILY importing a track from a Singer's disc to the Play List via the CDG button, as per: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?p=61623#post61623 Admin Post #10 Quote:
It seems to me, MTU needs a new hybrid term, such as, "AddIMPORTING." Then everyone would understand what one was talking about when one POSTS about it. |

Maybe there is some confusion as to what I am saying. When I am conducting karaoke, prior to beginning, i search for the various songs and enter them into the list. Once karaoke begins, and people continue o sign up, I want to add to the list. If I wait to add to the list when no one is singing, that is in between songs, then there is no problem, obviously. If, while someone is singing, I go into the search mode, and conduct a search for a song someone has signecd up for, the song currently being sung skips when i hit enter on the search screen.
