![]() We've been using Hoster for many weeks now with only two problems. First was about 2 weeks ago when the registration codes for all MTU programs disappeared. We fixed that by reinstalling Hoster. That fixed the problem and we didn't need to reinstall the songs. It played everything without a hitch. Now when we type in a song and push the title or the artist button it says no matches. We know the songs are still in the computer's hard drive because we've looked for .kma files and we found them. This worked beautifully before. What has happened? Why doesn't it see the files? We did install a Merle Haggard disk and it recognized it as totaly new yet it was one of the first disks installed. We do have Vista on a DELL laptop but like we said, it was working.
Thanks, Pete |

Open Hoster, click on Help, click on Hoster Manual.
That will give you a thorough understanding of the program and it's functions. |

open hoster, click on tools, on the dropdown menu click on rebuild database, window will pop up..select and delete anything on that window, then, click on select again..look for wherever you have your songs at and click on it.., then click on rebuild database.. |

Each set of circumstances is different.
It's quite obvious that anyone who has been using a program for a protracted period of time(several weeks or more) and has to ask something as basic as what it means to rebuild the database, needs to be introduced to the Manual, not spoon fed. They'll be much better off for it over the long haul, and gain enough knowledge to be truly helpful tp others. Very different than the brand new person that gets highly frustrated trying to get a new program to work. Last edited by George; October 29th, 2007 at 03:27 PM. |

![]() Ok, What if you've followed the instructions in the manual and you still can't find your .kma files? I chose build database and it came up with 0 entries.
What's wrong with helping out. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say it at all. Or have we thrown that out the window. ![]() |

That means that Vista has hidden them from Hoster, because they weren't created by Hoster on this machine....Boy do I love Vista!!
The easiest way to fix this and other problems with Vista is to turn off the UNC. There is a FAQ on the Support Page of the Website about how to fix this.

It's your problem child,LOL
Dale,
I did what you told me to the 'T'. Vista has been a nightmare for me and for all of you who have to deal with me, LOL. I hope you are laughing too. That didn't fix the problem. I had to search hidden folders until I found them. I have another question about the MS updates. In vista, I can't get it to give me the option of custom or express. There is some automatic update thing that chooses it for you. Do you know if there is a way to turn that on and off. I have tried but my puter skills don't go that deep. Thanks for all your help.
