Are you getting an error message or just no audio?

Can you play them in WMP?
When you play them in Hoster does the time counter tick down as if it is playing?

Does it change from Ready to Error in the status block?
What I think may be the problem is that they are recorded at a Bit Rate Hoster cannot use. The standard bit rate is 128 bps. I know that MadJim had some problems with this and figured out the ones that wouldn't play were recorded at 320 bps. They would actually make his computer blue screen.

They worked fine until I upgraded to 4.06 and thy are recorded at 128. in the older versions I could just go to my drive and load them with no problem. |

Mark what he is referring to is you have a copy of Version 3.4 installed along with 4.06. Look in C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster for a file called Hoster34.exe. Double click on it, load some MP3s and see if they play.
If they do then go back into Hoster 4.06 and open Tools/Options and change to the "Old" player. Then try your MP3s again. (Thanks Jim for triggering my memory)

Any computer you installed Hoster 4.06 (not Demo) will have the 3.4 version included. If you are trying this with the 4.06 Demo what previous version of Hoster did you have on it?

Im sorry, I downloaded a demo on an extra computer and the mp3 worked fine. I have 4.06 on my karaoke computer always did the updateds on new versions. You mentioned "Any computer you installed Hoster 4.06 (not Demo) will have the 3.4 version included" Please explain Im not familar
Thanks Mark p.s. Early I asked about songverter and you I htink suggested I take my zip files and convert them to mp3-g when I do this do I just add them to my folder on my hard drive that hoster uses to play them and rebuild databases? These new mp3-gs have book id? Or shall I put them in a seperste folder and add the folder and then rebuild? Last edited by MrMark; January 12th, 2009 at 08:32 PM. Reason: add info |

Songverter does not work directly in conjunction with Hoster so there is no way it could add a BookID to any file.

When you did your windows updates on your Karaoke computer, did you install any hardware upgrades for your sound card? Jim ![]()
