Back to Hoster 4.3 and lyrics back in sync

too many problems with 4.4 and vista
4.3 works well with vista except for the key changer
the problem with 4.4 seems to be having the exact same display in the preview window as the tv display caused the lyrics to go out of sync
maybe mtu can release a version of 4.3 with the key changer fixed
As long as my lyrics are in sync I'll deal with using an external key changer in the mean time

What kind of problems with Vista - out of sync on all songs? Did you try changing anything in the Options? The Manual makes suggestions if it is out of sync.

I need the key changer. I put 4.04 on my XP and everything works like it's supposed to, including key change. Only need 3.4 for MUX videos. So, I was planning on putting it on my Vista.

Unhappy 4.4 works well with xp but not vista

the new preview window with 4.4 is causing problems with vista
in 4.3 the preview window only showed the lyrics
in 4.4 they set it to show the marquee and name display as well and now the lyrics run slow and out of sync
in 4.4 i have to start songs sometimes twice because i get an error the first time when it tries to cue and it usually starts on the 2nd attempt
4.3 is much stabler with vista except maybe they could offer a patch for just the key changer or use 4.3 display in 4.4
i don't need to see all the details in the preview window, the 4.3 preview window was fine

4.05 is being BETA tested and should fix the key changer as well as the mux on videos and may be out in a month or so.

for now....... You didn't mention wether or not you made any changes in the Tools/Options, like changing from high priority to either normal or real-time and see if that makes any difference?

Also, did you read what the Manual says about audio being out of sync in the "Troubleshooting" section? It has a long explanation & possible solution.

Audio not the problem

tried all fixes, turned off marquee set vista display to vista basic, windows classic, tried normal default and realtime, drivers all updated even did a full recovery and only installed hoster as the only program on the computer after doing all updates
i'll stick with 4.3 it runs solid on vista except for the key changer
i have an external key changer on my amp
rather have a solid working basic version then a fancy one that dosen't work
i would like to have the key changer fixed since i now have gone to touch screen songbooks and a virtual karaoke slip

One last question (if you don't mind), why don't you use 3.4 for your key changer? I use a powered dual band amp (not karaoke), so I'm not hooking up another machine just to change the key.

4.03

i like the name display as long as it works with vista and it does in 4.3 my amp has a built in keychanger so i will have no more hardware to add
the problem is that showing the name display in the preview window of 4.4 is causing problems with song syncing in vista

Hey James,
4.03 works better than 4.04 for you but for others, 4.04 runs better than 4.03. They both work great for me. Now that MTU has a handle on getting video to run in vista, they will leave their tried a ture code alone and work on adding new features. Like Sky said, 4.05 will be releaded for testing very very soon (maybe tonight).

Positive Forward Motion is a wonderful thing!

Whats the big deal about making 4.03 avalible for those who it works fine for. I now have 4.04 and it's doing me no good at the moment. Because I have to revert back to 3. whatever.

I should have known to save 4.3 .

How much does MTU BenchMark this new updated software before it's released? I love Hoster: I Think that Mtu had done a great job with all of their programs but somethin must bee done

Shadow,
I uploaded a copy of Hoster 4.03 to my web site so folks in your position can get a copy until 4.05 is released and stable. Please save it to a folder on your hard drive and burn a copy to a disc.

I feel you here. After using Hoster at my shows for at least two weeks before 4.0 was released, I can tell you that there is no way I would want to run a show with 3.anything. My singers would kill me if I "lost" their song lists in the Singer Databse and the estimated time they sing is way to cool. Now folks just walk up, look at the computer monitor and walk away knowing what time they have to be in the room. I would never want to be without this feature, it's become a tool I count on, no pun intended. Now my singers don't have to ask me a thing, they just look.

I'm glad I was in a postion to get you a copy of 4.03.

Jim

Hey Rob,
You can't just "become" a beta tester like some companies. All of us were hand picked by Admin, the company president. The best thing anybody can do to increase their chances of being asked to be a beta tester (if another tester is needed ) is be a positive, active member of this forum/community. Give good advise and give full, accurate descriptions and reports.

This is not a true statement. MTU cutomers have ever been given a beta program to test, just won't happen.

Jim,
I think your missing his point. His comment, I beleive, was tongue-in-cheek.

Sounded that way to me too, especially since 4.0 came out & have had so many bugs reported by users that they have come out with .01-.04 and now getting ready for 4.05. So, it seems like we are "testers", even though these are not Beta versions.
