I ran 2.219 on a system that was FAR under minimum specs (Compaq 1700us, 733mhz pentium, 256 mb ram, 40gm hdd) without a single drop out ... the only thing I have to ask is, how much junk is running in the background taking up system resources?
The system I was using was less than 1/3rd of what you describe, and I had not a single problem ...
95% of the posts I seem to see about different issues are "user induced" ...
