Most entertainment DJs use "Pitch Control" on their table top scratch players to fine tune BPM's of a song to fit into the atmosphere of that dance set. Very seldom if ever to actually change the "pitch" of a song to sing it. I can alter the speed of a cdg in my studio, put it back into the original key with keyrite, tap it out as a new CDG with KHpro, burn it with microstudio for a finished cdg product.

I also call it pitch control. I have changed the speed {tempo}of several songs for my singers. Then rewrote them using KH pro. Karaoke home producer is a money maker for me. A great piece of software. I couldn't do the karaoke show i do, without keyrite, microstudio, and khpro. My singers demand special versions of songs. They are not commercially available. However with mtu software, your creative abilities are endless. Even for an old self taught hillbilly computer hack like myself. If i can get through this software, anyone can.
I agree about the MTU products that compliment Hoster... and George, I too, am an old fart trying to figure out some of the nuances of the other programs... and I still amaze some of my customers with KHPro finished projects...

The pitch wheel will altar speed but it will also alter the key as well so if you want to sing a song that was sped up, you would need a key changer to drop the key back down to the original key.
The tempo control will only alter the speed digitally without affecting the key of the song at all. If the song is sped up or slowed down - doesn't matter, the key remains the same.
Lonnie is correct, digitally it will not affect the pitch... only the tempo... it is still to be determined whether is will be possible to make a tempo change on the fly, or if you will have to preset the amount of tempo when you place the song in the playlist...

I have heard great feedback from some that are using other products. There is always a trade off and each of us has to decide what is the important features that we want. I have stated below that I have no interest in videos and I don't use these in Hoster. Others really love this feature. The best features to me in Hoster is "remove silence" and the singers database with the memory of the key changes. The next important thing to me is "tempo" which is not in Hoster but is in some other products.

Walt
Walt, I won't try to speak for MTU, as to the timeframe of release for TEMPO CONTROL... just be assured that it won't be released until it is rock solid, and will play nice with all the other features that 5.xx is promising... Stay tuned...
