:m I upgraded my office backup pc okay and then tried to upgrade my laptop which I use for shows and got the above message. Just wondered if anybody knows what Error 7 means ? I've got a wedding reception later this afternoon.

The email I am using is clearly shown in my MTU account file, along with my reg. number.

Beavis February 2nd, 2006 08:59 AM

did you make sure you were connected to the internet while installing ?

Hi Beavis,
Yes, I've tried about 5 or 6 times. I have also tried my other email address which MTU's account system doesn't recognise.

Well I've done everything I can think of. I've left messages here and I've rang MTU and left a message. I guess I'll just have to cancel the job and sit and wait.

make sure this is the original hoster registration code, not the upgrade code.

Beavis February 2nd, 2006 09:51 AM

It's bolted in a rack security cabinet to my desk and would take about 2 hours to dismantle.

I'd have looked funny arriving at a wedding reception with my office desk under my arm. :r I just hope somebody from MTU replies and sorts out my problem soon.

I can see the download for 3.301 clearly in my account and have downloaded it and installed it on my office pc okay. I then saved it to a disc and installed it on my laptop. When I try to send the data to Mtu I get message "Error 7 - Contact MTU"

Beavis February 2nd, 2006 10:45 AM

are you sure your connected online?

Eric Whitehouse February 2nd, 2006 10:54 AM

Error 7 - Contact MTU

Definitely. I have even downloaded the 3. :301 upgrade direct to my laptop using more remaining links. I have double checked my two original Hoster reg.codes as suggested by gduns and they are correct. I can't think of anything else to do can you? Apart from paying my £23 and defecting to the otherside. :r

Have you tried going to a restore point to bring back the other (older) version?
