very slow duplication of disc
 

i'm having a major problem duplicating with microstudio. I have the plextor 40-12-40u burner and am plugged into a usb2 port. it takes about 45min-1hr to dup and i need some ideas on my problem. at this rate i'll never be able to dup all my discs. thanx --carljohn :?

For starters, try going to the Plextor site and download any drivers you find for that burner.

well i updated any downloads, removed any roxio type programs and lowered speed for write to 10 and still going thru mtu discs with following failure:
"write command failed on device 2.0.0 -- read write error or bad medium detected. any other ideas would be greatly appreciated... thanx

Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your Motherboard, you must get this from the computer manufacturer. Also make sure that you have the latest drivers for your USB2, if this is built on your motherboard it will be included in the Motherboard Chipset drivers.

When you get this error, this means that the data is not getting from your Hard Drive to the CD-R fast enough, so it is actually a comptuer issue.

Which is the same reason that you are having the SUPER slow record times.
