One of my files was corrupted

When I initially had this problem (shortly after the 3.317 upgrade) clearing the temp directory corrected it at least for a while. Once I cleared additional space on my C: drive it has not recurred. I did have one file that still would not play and it is one that is used frequently at my gigs so I am sure it was okay. It failed with the identical error message that ThomasN is showing. I ended up having to delete the file in Hoster and reimporting it. I have not idea how it got corrupted but I hope it has nothing to do with the 3.317 release. My system should get a workout this weekend so I will report back if I encounter any more errors.

I did the same. I deleted the KMA through Hoster and reimported that song. Plays fine. I haven't found any other songs that pops that error up, yet.

I have a show tonight with the new system I just put together, keeping fingers crossed.

This go to prove that even Hard Drives are not infallable. If the media in a secter on the Hard Drive is weak then eventually it will fail. If this was occurring with all of your songs or all of one type of file then I would suspect Hoster had a bug, but when you are talking about one file then look to the media for being the cause. You can always run checkdisk to verify that the drive is still functioning ok.

Good point. Also, with ZIP files, they have to pass tests to verify their content. If the CRCs within them do not check out, the file can be rejected. The alteration of one byte within the file can be enough to cause this. Some UNZIP programs will ignore some types or certain levels of errors. Others won't. Hoster recently incorporated a new UNZIP function which allows the decompression of "Max Compressed" files. This new decompression function may detect more errors than the previous versions of Hoster. Just my 2¢.

Problem has not occurred again

Since clearing space on my C: drive I have not seen the problem occur again. I used the system extensively Friday night so it had ample opportunity to break but it ran without a problem.:)

Same here, no problems with the new VISTA system. Hopefully it was just a corrupt file.

KMAs don't play from zip

I had this problem and fixed it by deleting the temporary files. When I selected the same file that caused the initial problem and the problem re-occurred. Other Zip files played before the suspect one but not after. Rather than delete the file I copied the KMA folder to a new location on the same external drive, re-named the origional folder to Hoster old, then re-named the copied folder Hoster and rebuilt the database. The offending file then played perfectly. The reason I tried it this way was that there may be other files with problems along these lines and if it fixed the one I knew about it would likely fix any other file and save me any embarrassment while doing a show.

:c

Please copy the "auout.zzz" file to another location, and then rename it to "auout.zip". Try opening the file with any unzip program you have (WinZip, Windows Explorer, WinRar, etc.). What files are displayed when you do this?

Thanks!

P.S. Happy & Blessed Thanksgiving to one and all!

Thanks for this.
I have had major problems since uploading 3.317. Deleting the temp files did help initially but on the next night I had 2 Zip files reject with the same problems. I changed auout.zzz to zip as suggested and unzipped it. I renamed the files & reimported them as MP3. It now seems to be fine. I guess my only option from here is just to fix the files as they reject. It's a real pain but at least it can be fixed.
