Thanks for the support, but Admin has made it clear they are not going to change it. So that leaves us with two options, accept it or roll back to the previous version!

That is exactly what I did...

I went back to 5.04 and do not have any plans to ever upgrade again. I see this as the only choice I have.

I too love Hoster, but the frustration of that change was too great!!!

I'm not a professional VJ, but a "home user" of Hoster and have been for years. I waited to upgrade to 5.06.03 until two days ago- I was having a party and don't like "unexpected" things happening with the system. I must admit that I dislike the combination of the search and singers windows immensely. I run Hoster on a 13.3" MacBook Pro using Windows 7 through Bootcamp and screen space is very limited. I rarely use the Singers Database and would certainly prefer the option to have it as it was in previous versions. I'll give it a shot, but I may be rolling back and just staying there.

Visit this post to download and test Hoster 5.07 Beta 1.

There are some problems with the restored Search dialog "open files icon" not working right (it was fixed today). This will allow you to HIDE the Singers dialog, and when you close the Search dialog your selection of this icon is retained. One click and it will SHOW the Singers dialog again, one click to HIDE it, etc.

Also, the minimizing and maximizing of the Search and Singers dialogs aren't right, but were fixed today.

We are trying to meet your needs. It would be very complex to reverse back to separate Search and Singers buttons as the Add button, Tempo & Key change controls and "Skip" check box are all in the Search dialog, no longer in the Singers dialog. We did a MAJOR integration of these screens.

We also have done a TOTAL rewrite of the Database accessing code to speed it up MANY times what it was in 5.05 and prior. This too would be affected.

So, download it and test. You can install this Beta version on your show computer and retain you current Hoster icon also. Read the instructions in the thread. :w

Please help us make 5.07 work for you. Returning to 5.05's separate buttons is not an option.
