I,M HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, ONLY I CAN COPY AND THEY PLAY BEAUTIFUL ON MY V-10. WHAT WINDOWS ARE RUNNING?
I AM RUNNING WINDOWS 98. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEM WITH MY MACHINE AT ALL UP UNTILL I UPGRADED TO MICROSTUDIO 2.310. IT DONE FINE ON 2.200. THE ONES I COPIED WITH 2.200 I CAN STIIL GET THEM TO WORK EVEN ON THE PLAY TAB WITH CDROM.
I ALSO WENT THROUGH THE PROCCESSES THEY RECOMENDED.
MY PROBLEM COULD BE OF THE AGE OF MY YAMAHA 4416E, BUT IT HAS BEEN A FANTASTIC MACHINE AND I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE BEFORE I PURCHASE ANOTHER. I'M JUST WAITING TO SEE IF THERE WOULD BE A PROBLEM SOMEWHERE MAYBE IN THE WINDOWS 98. A MISSING FILE OF SOME KIND MAYBE THAT WE ARE OVERLOOKING. I ALSO UPGRADED TO THE 2.311 AND HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. DON'T GET TOO FRUSTRATED AND GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO FIGURE THIS OUT.
I'M SURE YOU WILL HERE FROM MTU SHORTLY . THEY ARE VERY BUSY. IF FOR SOME REASON I FIND OUT WHAT MY PROBLEM IS I WILL LET YOU KNOW. I STILL THINK THAT THERE IS A CONFLICTION IN THE COMPUTER ITSELF AND THE PROGRAM.

SLOAN,
DID YOU INSTALL YOUR PLEX\WRITER YOURSELF OR HAD IT DONE?
I WAS HAVIN' TROUBLE WITH MY OBSELETE YAMAHA 4416E, SO I TOOK IT OUT MYSELF AND DONE A THOROUGH CLEANING, AND WHEN I REINSTALLED IT I FOUND THAT MY CONNECTIONS WERE NOT RIGHT SO I FIXED THAT PROBLEM. MY BURNER IS DOING JUST FINE. I KNOW NOTHIN' ABOUT THE NEW BURNERS THAT MTU SELL BUT THE YAMAHA THAT I PURCHASED FROM THEM THREE YEARS AGO HAS BEEN GREAT. IS THIS A BURNER THAT YOU PURCHASED FROM MTU? THE ONES THEY SELL ARE PRETESTED TO THEIR SPECS. BEFORE THEY SELL THEM.

I purchased this cd burn from MTU. I installed it first and it didn't work, so I had it installed professionally. Thank you for taking the time to reply to my message. I quess I will have to give them a call tomorrow.

There are a few things that can cause these type errors:

1) Make sure that DMA is enabled. http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=409&highlight=Write+Command or this thread can give some insight also: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=332

2) Your hard drive in your computer may not be fast enough, or need updated drivers. For this you will need to check your Motherboard manufacturers website for updated drivers for your system.

3) Make sure that Adaptec DirectCD is not installed on this computer: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=334

4) Make sure that Auto Insert Notify is not turned on. http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=333

5) The last thing but most important is that you have updated your ASPI drivers. This post will tell you exactly how to do it: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=493

This should help you to get it running.

Let me know if this stuff does or doesn't help any of you.

Thanks,

If you have a K133A chipset make sure you have the latest 4in1drivers installed. I was unable to copy CDG tracks or duplicate CDG disks until I installed the latest drivers.:) :g

You can find the latest drivers on VIA's website at www.viatech.com
