Question Need Advice Concerning Song Book Modifications

Is it possible to change Song Book:

- Book IDS
- Song Title Information (etc.)

If so, how? I would like to re-organize my material now that it has been loaded.

Thanks.

Book IDs you are stuck with. The rest can be changed in the edit songs dialog.

You can modify the songbook in whatever program you exported it to. That is not a permanent solution however. At the top of the Hoster screen Tools, edit songs, is a better choice. Then your songbooks will match your database. This is the most time consuming part of the process. The smarter way would be to make sure everything is correct when you import the songs. I failed to do that for the first couple of years and spent literally 1 solid moth of spare time correcting all the errors.

Take some time to read the manual. It is under help. It is well written and will guide you through the process.

My hoster dupe is on my home pc, first thing I did was go to edit, typed in SGB or Sweet Georgia Brown in edit, removed all the dupes in that. Then went to Sound Choice, Chartbuster, Top Tunes, ect

Then the real work began, I started with artists, and searched for dupes by brand, saving CB and SC as my top choices.

Beyond that I'm still culling songs out, I have over 15,000 on my external hard drive and 8,700 on my pc I use for shows I still find dupes I missed, write them down and edit them out.

It takes a long time but once you get it done, life gets easier and your pc gets faster.

I have been numberless for my books for two years now, no brand id, just title and artist in two col. It was worth the work.
