Complete Newbie and cyberphovic

I just bought Hoster and it my understanding I can download songs off the Internet for a one time use for Karaoke shows. I know this sounds simple but I need to know how to accomplish this. Can anyone give me a hint because I am clueless

No that is not correct. You can import a song from someone elses CD into Hoster for a one time use, but anything you download from the Internet will need to imported permanently. Meaning you will have to buy the song. That purchase needs to be from a legal sales point.
I don't know where you got this idea and would like to know if anything in MTU's documentation gave you the idea this would work.

Just to add to this, Doc you need to take your address out of your "Location" in the header too. Just list your location as your city and state if you want, but putting your address in there is not a good idea.

We usually do our ordering from Ace Karaoke, but there are plenty of sites on the internet to buy from. Just do a search for karaoke disks and you will find many.
Since you are just getting started, I will say be careful where you order from. Some offer hard drives with massive amounts of songs. These are illegal and not something you want. Many of the sites that offer downloading of song files are also illegal. If you want to download individual songs then stick to the producers web sites. Your best bet is if you can get physical CDs then you know you are legal as you have the physical disk to show for it.

Re: Complete Newbie and cyberphovic

Doc, another suggestion if i may. After you get comfortable with your new Hoster software. I strongly suggest you check out the other great software products dave has for sale at mtu. Such as microstudio, keyrite, and KHpro. Your possiblities are endless in writing your own custom cdg's. I enjoy writing political parody cdg's, seasonal & holiday cdg's, etc. And keyrite is a great program to change keys for the cdg's you've written. Your songs will look, and sound better, then most that are commercially available. And i enjoy putting graphics in my cdg's. Enjoy

Re: Complete Newbie and cyberphovic

For the record, we will soon begin a major upgrade to KHPro, expected to release next year. It will make creating your own songs so much easier. You will want to have the ability to upgrade to this from our current version.
