AVG tools. Sometimes I forget to look at the drop-down menus because of all of the pretty buttons:g

avg tools
 
yea in AVG. If you double click on your avg icon it opens AVG. Then click on tools...etc

I do not have a tools tab on the menu.

Sounds like you need to upgrade your AVG Bryant. Obviously you don't have the same version they do.

but shouldn't different versions still have a way of doing the same things.

Now if Microsoft followed that philosophy we wouldn't have such a learning curve going from NT, to 2000, to XP, to Vista, and to whatever else they are going to bring out and screw up.:t
For that matter are all the features in Hoster 4.06 also in 3.4?
Have you tried the Help section for your AVG to see how to add exclusions?

I have the free version .. got it last week

I use Avast Anti-Virus (The home version is also free). I've never had a problem with it.
