Exclamation Error: unable to analyze disc layout

Started getting this message. I installed a new video card about a day and burned about 15 disk now this is the message I get.

Also got Load disc: Command failed on device 1.10 (04h 00h 02h 02h 3ah 00h)

I checked my new plextar px5224a on burning other disc's it works great. I had computer problems so formatted hd and went from widows 98se before stripping and went back with new XP sp1. My computer is a dell PIII 700mgz with 256mg ram new ati 128mg agp2x video and new plextar px5224a.

I have ordered 256mg of more ram hoping this will fix. But don't understand why it was working and now quit.

Re: Error: unable to analyze disc layout

I think this is probably your error (ignore the numbers following):

9) ERROR: Write command failed on device 1:1:0 read/write error or bad medium detected (04h 00h 02h 03h 73h 03h)

SOLUTION: This problem means that your computer is not sending the Data to the CD-R drive fast enough. Thus, there is something in the computer that is slowing down the system.

You can try running Disc Defragmenter by going to the Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\Disc Defragmenter.

Run all of the Windows updates by clicking here.

Run some type of Program such as Spybot Search and Destroy to search for and remove Spyware from your computer.

Update your Motherboard drivers from your computer manufacturer. These will be called the Chipset drivers or Motherboad drivers.

This should help, but there is something slowing down the system. You must find out what it is to fix the problem.

Re: Error: unable to analyze disc layout

Bob, I can copy regular cds or the cd+g's with Nero or my plextar program. I just don't get the graphics. Thanks MTU for your input I will check this tonight when I get home. I have already looked for spyware and don't have any. The defrag was the first thing I did, and do have all the new updates for XP, but I have not downloaded the new XP service pack 2 for I have been told its not good.

Robert
