what do I need

I'm new to this, have read the vogone webpage and since I don't know jargon some answers would be appreciated.

I want to eliminate vocals and record my singing efforts onto a cd. so in addition to the vogone software I need this microstudio software, right? I already have the cd burner and windows xp.
