Problem transfering kma files

I have Windows 7 and Hoster 5.10
I keep my kma files in an external HD. It's been acting a little odd with my computer, so I moved all the .kma files to a second internal HD. I did a Build Database to the new D:\Songs. I then went to download some songs. Went to Index Song Files, under choose folder I had already changed where the songs were going (D:\Songs), so I ticked Select. Under Select Filename then Define Field Order I changed the Save To D:\Songs. When I ticked one of the files and then ticked Add Files, it added the list of files. The Disc ID had the disc information, but when I opened Brand, nothing is there, and don't know why. Oh I also opened Songbook and ticked Create, but that didn't change anything.
If anyone has any ideas please share them with me.

Thanks,
Ernie

Re: Problem transfering kma files

It sounds to me like your Bucket.mdb is either missing or corrupted as the brands are stored in that file, it is a locked file so you can't look into it but you can check if it's there.

From the Tools menu select Hoster Data Folder, look down the list of files and see if there is a file named Bucket or Bucket.mdb.

Let us know if that file is there or not, I'll think of the best way to carry on after your answer.

Re: Problem transfering kma files

Roy,
There is no bucket. Could I Copy it from my laptop and paste it to my desktop? They should both be exactly the same.

Thank you,
Ernie

Yes, I was going to ask if you had a backup of your Hoster folder, I should think coping it will be OK.
Try it

Re: Problem transfering kma files

Roy,
I have it on my thumb drive, but when I open up the Hoster Data Folder, the list comes up but it won't let you install anything. When the arrow gets close to a box you can see an outline around it. Open your list and get close to anything in the list and you'll see what I mean. What if I just downloaded it again?

Thanks,
Ernie

Re: Problem transfering kma files

Re-installing Hoster will probably replace it but before you try that.

When you get the Hoster data folder showing close Hoster but keep the data folder open. Then go up one folder in the path so you are in the mtu.com folder then you should see the Hoster folder itself but not opened, now copy the bucket file from your thumb drive then right click on the Hoster folder and select paste.

If you still have a problem try re-installing.

If I am understanding you correctly is sounds like after you moved your KMA files you then downloaded some new songs. If this is the case it sounds like when you downloaded them and imported them the box to name the brand was blank so the songs were imported with no brand. If I am correct and this is what happened you can go to the tools/edit and select the songs and change the blank brand name to whatever you want. The easiest way to find the songs is to use the "what's new" feature unless you know the book i.d or disc i.d. Hope this helps.

Walt
