microstudio not recognizing plextor w/ Pyro firewire kit

I have a plextor 16/10/40A drive in a pyro firewire kit. Installed Microstudio but it doesn't see the plextor drive, only the internal DVD ROM.

Is there a special driver or installation procedure I need to do ?
