Re: As a group

as much as i hate the way they treat us the KJ i think SC is the best all around disc. they are best at pop & rock, i believe Chartbuster is best country. sunfly is very good to. Bob

Re: As a group

Somehow the way things were tabulated, didn't work out the waythey should have. How can DK not be in the list and Sweet Georgia Brown (shudder) is?

Re: As a group

Must agree with g-force about Sweet Georgia Brown (ARGH!)
DK has a very good product, as does Top Tunes which is relatively new, but very nice all round sound/production quality.

Sound Choice (as irritating as they may be as a company) have the best overall product in my opinion. My instinct when someone asks me, :Hey, what version of that song is better", I'm usually going to pick a SC if available.

Re: As a group

Ok guys, there is a new karaoke company out there, and there products are second to none... Check out Star Quest. Their Eagles disc is the best I have heard and the Cher one is darn good too. They only have about 8 discs out so far, but you can be sure I will be buying them up as they come out. And they are only 10 bucks each! Sound choice doesn't even compare to the quality.

Re: AS a group

Hi all
I have been having a lot of sucess with Top Hits Monthly Pop and Country disks the accuracy of the lyrics are real good as is the sound quality. I also like Karaoke Bay due to the fact you can get them at Walmart for around $10 bucks. and they import real easy to my Harddrive at least so far they do. They also sound good. I still like singing off of Sound choice and Chartbuster but have slacked off on buying them since started using Hoster. They are harder to import and have to go to extra steps to get them on Hard drive.

John
PS thanks for the info on Starquest

Extra Steps

Hi Chris
The extra steps that I was referring to are 1. having to use another Program such as MicroStudio to defeat the Multisession recording.
1. I had to purchase Microstudio or the Suite that included Microstudio.
2. Using Microstudio I put in CD+G
3. Scan It for the songs like you do in hoster.
4 Click on the last song before the extra data track.
5. Import it to hard drive but have to eject CD+G when it gets to the pause or roughly the 3/4 mark on the progress bar.
6. then go to copy CD+G feature and retrieve it from Hard Drive and make a Copy onto a Blank CDR.
7. Copy that CD to Hoster.
The process works but end up with about an extra minute of the final SC or Chartbuster title/ad at end. Better than no song at all.
I have one Priddis CD+G that is multisession that is a patriotic disk and since no one requests that song I chose to not include it in Hoster.
Hope this clarifys some of what I was talking about.
What ever happened to "Keep It Simple"

John

Re: Thanks

Chris
I hope that you found my instructions clear enough to be able to import the last track on SC and CB disks. I am still really new to using a computer to run my songs off of but so far I really love it. It sure beats having to do the Disk switcheroo. I have even taken the leap of faith and am leaving my disks accept for a couple of DVD's and Chart buster Disks that My Plextor drive wouldn't recognize at home. I am that confident in Hoster. Once version 3.2 comes out and we are able to import DVD and stick them in the play list like we can do with CDG's That will be wonderful.
Have a great day!
John
