Errors opening product, can't open it.

I just downloaded and installed the product with no problems at all. but after rebooting, when i go to open the application, there is a long pause and then i get the normal windows XP error box saying: Microstudio MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience.

after i click for more details it says:
error signature:
appname: microstudio.exe appver: 2.6.1.0 modname wnaspint.dll modver 1.0.0.1 offset 0002faa

and i can click Dont' Send.

Please advise.

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

it looks like you are missing this
wnaspint.dll

I may be wrong here since I don't use this program
but it is a good guess that you are missing this or it is corrupt

hope this helps mike

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

This is the ASPI driver, that is causing this. Some computers just don't like the driver. Search your computer for that driver and then delete it, then install the Adaptec Drivers from http://www.mtu.com/kb/index.php?page=index_v2&id=23&c=1

If this still doesn't work, then update your computers Motherboad drivers.

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

Okay so now the drivers work and i can finally get the program opened.. but it's not recoginzing my CDRW. It's a plextor PX-W4824TU and it defeinitely does read and write CD-G as i've copied almost all my karaoke disks successfully on it. I mainly bought the program because I was told it could take one track from this disk and one track from another and put them together.

Please advise on what i need to do to get the drive to be seen. i've read all the instructions and nothing is working.

Michelle

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

You are correct Michelle, it will work for CD+G.

It seems that the Adaptec drivers no long support USB devices, so if you have an external drive, then you must use our driver, which your computer doesn't like, it seems like.

So you might need to have the drivers updated for your motherboard and try our driver again, this is the only way to fix it. You need to fix the issue that is keeping it from working on your computer, or install it to a different system.

Okay.. i have flashed my bios.. rebooted didn't do anything. deleted old dll and installed yours, then the program didn't open again. Deleted that and insatlled the nero ones in step 3. .. still don't see the drive.

I would like a refund as your software does not seem to work on new dell computers

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

absolutad,
I am sorry we have a Demo version for you to download and test before you purchase to make SURE it will work on your computer.

The Refund policy is located at: http://www.mtu.com/support/info.htm

The bios will not make the difference on this problem. The problem is with the Drivers for your Motherboard, that is in your Dell computer. What you need to do is go to Dell, get the very latest drivers for the Motherboard or Chispet drivers. This is the onlky way to fix this problem.

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

I went to the dell website and found nothing about drivers for the motherboard, only the bios upgrade. Your demo is not a full functioning demo. it says that it doesn't copy disks and other features that you can only test if you purcahse. so there is no real way to test it until it's purcahsed.

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

Michelle, something is abnormal here. We're not sure what to try next. We sincerely appreciate your working with us to diagnose the problem. We appreciate Mike trying to help too!

Here's my offer:

We "expect" to release Microstudio 3.0 by the end of April that will not require the ASPI. I quote "expect" as this is a major upgrade and we might miss this date, or it might be earlier. We should start beta testing V3.0 next week. Because its a major upgrade, we prefer 4 weeks testing before we release to the public. We have tens of thousands of users who would love to see this new version. It should do all the Microstudio functions with CDG disc formats with almost any drive, including your Plextor.

If you want to wait for it, we will give you a free upgrade to see if it solves your problem.

I offer you the right to a refund now, or within 10 days after you receive V3.0 if it still doesn't work for you.

Post here what you want to do... refund now or wait and see if 3.0 will work, and still have the right to a refund if it doesn't work on your Dell.

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

Well As i REALLY would like this software to work I am willing to wait, or even beta test it for you. If we can get it working before that by finding some driver for my motherboard then great...

thank you for your offer. I'll wait to see if the new version works.

Michelle

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

Nope.

Beta Testing won't start until later in June, at the earliest.

What are the errors that you are getting? The only thing that can cause the any errors on startup of the program is with the wnaspint.dll file. You can search your system for this, and delete it from the c:\Windows\System32 directory.

Then Install the Adaptec Drivers and see if they work, from the http://www.mtu.com/kb/index.php?page...2&id=23&c=root Faq. If they still don't work, then try changing to a different or creating a new user on your computer and then see if it will work.

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

I've been through all the dll registering and stuff before nothing worked. My drive is not recognized at all. I was told I would have to wait for this next version in order for it to work.

Re: Errors opening product, can't open it.

Try a different Username on your system. I had a client who had this same problem, and something is corrupted in her registry, which caused this same problem. She changed to a new Username under XP and it then showed the drives and worked fine.

Give this a try and see what happens.
