How do I run karaoke on my PC?

Hello,

I am trying to get a karaoke track to run on my PC. I've tried several players and different methods of copying but nothing worked. I will try to provide as much detail as I can here.

The disc was purchased from Priddis.com. I told them my intention and they recommended MTU.com for PC based player.

The files in the data directory look like this:

MENU1.DA3
MENU1.DAH
MENU1.DAL
MENU1.TIF

Most players are looking for .cdg or .kar files to copy. I don't know how to convert to this format.

My intention is to get the files working on my PC, then modify the lyrics.

I'm coming up with nothing on every attempt. PLease help!.

Thanks,

Bart

Bart,
Download the demo software of Hoster and Microstudio. Try them out. You will be able to get them to run on your PC. To modify the lyrics you will need to use KPro and restripe the lyrics in and then use Microstudio to burn a CDG to use. You will need to have a plextor drive.

Ok, I downloaded both programs. When I try to import tracks, it shouws the disc as:

KARAOKE = NO
AUDIO = YES

It will not import any tracks. Am I doing something wrong? I have no intention of burning anything to a disc. I just want to run it from my PC for a project I am working on.

Thanks again! -Bart

My properties identifies the drive as

HL-DT-ST CDROM GCR-8481B

It came as standard with my dell. Are you saying that to read the files I need to the Plextor drive or just to Burn?

Can I just copy the files to my hard-drive and then convert?

Thanks again! -Bart

You will need a plextor drive to read the CDG code, otherwise it will be audio only.
