Microstudios vs Hoster

Why cant I import songs from Hoster program (bought from MTU) to my Microstudios program (bought from MTU) Shouldnt these two programs be compatible? Does anyone know how to convert the Hoster files (KMA) to ones that are useable with Microstudios?

What is the answer for this? An I missing something. I bought the software as a gift for my brother. He's one of those who has not owned a computer before. It's a pain since I need to set it up and show him how to use it and I've not used software like this before. I hate having to use up hard drive space having to put the same CD on hard drive twice to have two different formats

Please tell me how to get Hoster and Microstudio to use the same CD stored on the Hard Drive

Microstudio 2.613, which is the current release version, imports ALL tracks from Karaoke CDG discs and stores them as .CDG format files. These take about 30MB to 100MB of disc space.

Hoster's Import Tracks menu Import Hard Drive Tracks command allows converting .CDG format files from Microstudio and storing them as .KMA files. Using the 96Kb "ratio" selection, the 30-100MB files above will take about 3-10MB disc space (10:1 compression). They clearly are different formats for different purposes.

As seen at http://mtu.com/support/news.htm, our Microstudio 3.0 version under development, will allow creating a list of different file types and writing them as either a Karaoke CD+G format disc, or as a CDDA Audio disc. The list can contain these file types:
.CDG
.KMA
.BIN
.MP3 (+G for karaoke lyrics)
.ZIP
.MP3 (audio only)
.WAV (audio only)
.WMA (audio only)
