Question MicroCD V2.403 with Plextor PX-W4824TA Drive

Just installed new Plextor PX-W4824TA CD-RW drive and MicroCD Version 2.403. MicroCD says it can't find a CD recording device. There's no problem, however, when I burn audio CD's using EZ CD creator. Any know how I can get MicroCD to work with this new burner? Please let me know in layman's terms! Thank you.

ATAPI Manager Not Found

I just installed all Microsound 5.5 and MicroCD 2.403 in new machine. WIN XP Pro, Intel D845GBV MB, Intel P4 1.8, 512MB RAM, 40GB WD HDD, Plextor 48x24x48 CDRW. Microsound apears to work well, MicroCD will not run. I have followed the installation of ATAPI as listed on support. But I continue to get the message:

Error: Unable to initialize the ASPI manager
ASPI support information was not found

Verify results and press any key to return to Windows.
Press any key to continue . . .

The versions I have installed are listed below.
ASPI32.SYS 4.71.2
WOWPOST.EXE 4.5.7 (1008)
WINASPI.DLL 4.5.7 (1008)
WNASPI32.DLL 4.5.7 (1008)

had a situation where 2 of my programs were not reckognizing one of my cd drives- my CD+G writer itself. Fixed it by dragging a copy of wnaspi32.dll into the folder containing those 2 programs and both programs immediately reckognized the drive. thankfully it wasn't an MTU product that wasn't reckognizing the drive.

Angry Known Device

I have gone from not recognized ASPI Manager to now having an unrecognized deviced. I have downloaded and installed all of the recommended ASPI drivers, axcept for the MTU recommended ones because the link was bad. I have been able to find and install version 4.5 and 4.7 but not a 4.6. Can anyone offer assistance in making Micro CD Work?

Unhappy ASPI Drivers

I have found ASPI 4.6 at this site.

http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/aspi.html

There also is a download for 4.7 on the same site.

After successfully installing 4.6 I am presented this message:

Error: Unable to find a known CD-Recorder device!

Verify results and press any key to return to Windows.
Press any key to continue . . .

I have successfully burned 8 CDs, both data and music using Nero 6.0. I am awaiting help from all.

OmegAudio,
The Plextor 48x drive is not supported under MicroCD 2.403. The 40x Plextor was the last supported device. I will ask ADMIN what to should be done about this.

ASPI Drivers are located on our site at: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?threadid=493

Question Plextor Drive

When I inquired about hardware to purchase for this machine I was told to purchase a Plextor. When I inquired if a 48x would work I was told "Yes". If we change the firmware to make the drive think it is a 40x will this work? Or am I down to purchasing a less than 40x drive?
Thank you for the download link.

Smile MicroCD

I wanted to post a reply and sing the praises of MTU.
I built a new machine to replace my MTU Intel 233 workstation.

After building the machine as recommended, MicroCD did not recognize the Plextor CDRW. I posted here for a solution, and shortly there after MTU sent me a correction to MicroCD so it would work with the faster Plextor Drive.
No other company I have delt with provides this kind of support.
Thank you MTU.
Chris
