Win98 shutdown
Frequently after running Microstudio 2.315 on my Win98 machine for a period of time and select to play a CDG track (from the hard drive) through Microstudio, the screen will clear like it is going to play the track.
However, my machine shutdowns. But the power to the machine is still on, meaning it didn't go through the normal Win98 shutdown cycle which would have turned off the power. At this point, I am unable to do a ctl-alt-del or toggle to other applications I had running. I have to either press the power or reset buttons to reboot. Although I am careful to make certain that I've actually written any CDG I am currently working on in Karaoke Home Pro to a file, it is rather disruptive to go through the reboot & scan disk cycles. Since I haven't done any testing to determine which if any combinations of loaded applications will & will not cause the shutdown to occur, I do normally have Karaoke Home Pro loaded with lyrics & .wav file loaded. And I usually have Vogone loaded (after having processed a .wav file). I also have Windows Explorer loaded & probably Notepad. Plus, Plextor's MVP 2000 wav file player is loaded too. Any ideas? Try removing the Plextor MVP 2000. This seems to give errors at times, from what I have been told.
Also, make sure that you have updated your DirectX to version 8.0 from: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthr...p?threadid=772 The other thing to make sure that you have done is update the ASPI drivers as stated at: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthr...p?threadid=493
