Unhappy Registration Code Disabled

I went on the Help to see if I had the latest Hoster upgrade and I got the message “Your Registration Code was found disabled”. What do I need to do to reinstate my Registration Code.

I have two laptops with Hoster 6.01.03 and my account is I am not a pro, I just use Hoster for friends and family. I use one of the laptops as a backup in case something goes wrong, which has never happened.

I have called MTU and sent this statement on two e-mails, but no answer since 5-2-2019.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

Wesley Rahn

Re: Registration Code Disabled

Only support can help with registration problems, you should submit a help ticket, here is a link to the page: http://help.mtu.com/support/tickets/new
Fill the form in.

After submitting you should get an auto response almost immediately with a support #, follow instruction on that.

Be aware you may have to wait until Monday as not always checked on weekends or bank holidays.

The Status check is found top of this page: http://help.mtu.com/support/home.

In the mean time Is your existing version of Hoster still working ?

Re: Registration Code Disabled

Thanks again Roy,

Yes, both my computers work and I really don\'t have an emergency. I was just concerned because I didn\'t have the ability to upgrade my Hoster program.

I have a ticket number and expect to finally hear from mtu

Thanks, as always you always answer questions,

Wes

Re: Registration Code Disabled

I upgraded my Hoster to 6.01.04 and when I tried to download to my Main computer I got this message from McAfee WebAdvisor:

\"Hoster 6.01.04 setup.exe contained a virus and was detected\"

It was stopped at 93% download. I have tried three times with the same results.

My next step will be to deleted McAfee from my computer, but I wanted to first check to make sure there is no problem with the setup.

Thanks,
Wes

Re: Registration Code Disabled

I had similar message from McAfee, on mine it stated something like “Whoa don’t go there” I selected an option something like Accept the risk or ignore, and it installed OK.

There is no virus in it. You should not need to uninstall McAfee, if you go to the Mcafee control panel you should see an option or a tab for security somewhere, select that then choose Real time Scanning then select “Turn Off” and another box should open allowing you to Turn it off for a selected time, select 30 min then try again to install.

Another thing I have seen recently is a Windows Defender warning pop up, this appears in a blue box stating something like Windows SmartSceen prevented an unrecognised app from starting. You should get an option to Run anyway and no further problems. If you do not see the option to Run anyway it could be your security settings in Windows.
This is a relatively new thing in Windows security and can be disabled or set to allow.

To get to these settings right click the Windows Icon bottom left on taskbar and select Settings/App & Browser control, make sure Block is not selected for any of the browsers.

See how you get on with that info

Roy,

Thanks for the information, but I could only access McAfee
at the Uninstall a program. It didn\'t open anywhere else, so I deleted McAfee and was then able to download my upgraded Hoster version.

Once again thanks for your efforts to try and help me, you always help all who ask. I also wanted to make sure I followed up on your advice, so you had feedback.

Thanks again,
Wes
