Microstudio not working - solved by customer (Vista)
I've installed Microstudio 4.0.0.6 on a customer's laptop, along with hoster.
When I run the program to make sure everything is ok, I get the dialog for setting the optical drives as expected. Once I click save, nothing else happens. The microstudio executable shows up as a running process in the task manager, but nothing else happens. This laptop is a replacement for the once the customer had before, which went bad before she could even get all of her karaoke music imported as kma. Thinking that perhaps microstudio didn't work because of something to do with the license, I waited until after I got confirmation of the license reset, then uninstalled and re-installed Microstudio. Still the same behavior, though. This is a new Toshiba laptop running Vista Home Premium with all updates applied. Thanks, Shaun |

Shaun,
Find the executable and set it to run as Administrator. I don't think MTU did that when it was originally released. That should make it open.

Dale, thanks for putting me on the right track.
running the program as admin didn't make any difference, but i did notice that the xp sp2 compatibility checkbox was activated. i unselected that, and everything worked fine. pretty weird, but i'm glad it's straightened out. shaun |
