Problem New 3.0

New version reads and plays fine. It even seems to copy fine. But I cannot get it to write. I get the error "Writing To CD Failed." I have used MTU software for years now so I'm not exactly a novice. No problem with older version.

I have tried different makes of CD. (Even the ones I got from MTU) Tried different speeds and still it won't write.

Is there anything I need to set up different on the computer that would be different than what the past version required. As yes I have all windows updates.

Thanks,

Kelly

Kelly what drive do you have? We did have a few that had problems when testing.

Kelly, what firmware version does you Plextor 716 drive have? You can view this in the Tools menu Default Drives command.

ADMIN

All You had to do was delete my last two lines, which I expected. The rest was a valid post from a customer, or don't I even count as a customer anymore?

I'm having a problem with two drives at the writing stage, just as Kelly is, only they act as though the media is no good, and ejects before any writing appears to start.

Kelly and George,
When you installed the new version did you Upgrade or Remove (old version)?
At one point in testing we had to Remove the old version and Install the new. And if my memory serves me correctly (which it doesn't sometimes) that was when the write function began working again. Could be some leftover registry or dll code from old version that is messing things up.

GPAYNE:

That's what I was eluding to when I posted the above.

The criticism of the verbage on the Default Drives is very valid also (that language is too technical) but not my follow up comment about battling it out in Beta. In the year or so that has passed, that's the first time I made such a reference.

By the time I got back to it, the edit time had run out.

Bitter about not being on the team...NO, about how it happened... IT APPEARS SO.

I thought I'd worked through it and forgiven. Maybe I still have to work on that with my maker.

Take Care,

George
