save in cd-g format
Can anyone let me know how to save in CD-G format in V2.4 microstudio so Keyrite can see it. I'm at a loss.

Import Tracks Tab
In the Import Tracsk Tab, click the CDG button not the WAV button. Then the file that is imported will have the CDG data along with the audio samples.
Keyrite can open the imported .cdg file. |

I think I must be a cent short of a dollar here as it looks like I'm missing something very very obvious. I do (obviously) select the cd-g button and the track is imported, I then click the "custom assembly tab" button at the bottom and am taken to the Custom Assembly tab, I then save the track from there using the "save as" button where I save the track to a desktop folder, BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN SAVED AS A CD-G FILE, IT HAS BEEN SAVED AS A.LST FILE, when I locate the same desktop folder from Keyrite's "select input folder" button Keyrite can't see the saved track or indeed anything in that folder as it only see's cd-g files, I therefore need to know how to save the track as a cd-g file so that I can then access that file from Keyrite, change the key on it, reloaod it back into Microstudio and then burn the key-changed version onto a cd-r disc.
P.S. I sent a more detailed email on this subject to webmaster@mtu.com on the 10th Jan but no reply as yet. Last edited by daddybrubeck; January 14th, 2003 at 08:45 AM. |

You're putting an extra step in there that does not serve your purpose. If you want to import a cdg track and change the key, all you need do is import as cdg like admin said. It gets saved as cdg AUTOMATICALLY in your cdg songlist folder(or whatever folder you made when you saved your first track when first using the program). You select that folder on the imports page where it says Select Folder. That will be the default unless you change it.Then all you need do is go to Keyrite, click Select Input File. At the dialog box that pops up, click the arrow "Look In" and find the folder your tracks are stored in, and open that folder. Then on the Files Of Type box, select cdg, and you're on your way. .WAV and .CDG tracks can be in the same songlist folder.
You don't click the add tracks to the Custom Assembly Tab for this purpose. George Last edited by George; January 17th, 2003 at 05:21 PM. |

George you are a gentleman and a scholar, I done exactly what you said above and lo & behold it worked. I would never have realised in a million years that was I needed to do, many thanks. Eddie.
