What is the message you are getting?
You must be logged in as an administrator to replace the file.

My xp machine will not allow me to install new lame dll
says it is password protected.

Are you trying to place it in the system32 folder?
I think if you go to Safe mode that should prevent it from loading (which is why I think it refuses). That should allow you to replace it.

I finally got it in.
it was always there but quit working or songverter quit reconizing it.??? but now it has the updated version. Thanks Bob
