reinstalling microstudio to windows xp

When trying to reinstall microstudio from cd to windows xp, the following feature transfer error occurs. "Error:-1612 The installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can access it."
What must I do to get microstudio back on the computer.

Did you do an update to Windows XP from another operating system?

It sounds as if something is damaged in the Operating system, I would recommend a refomat to fix this problem. If Microstudio is still showing as installed on the sytem, then try completely uinstalling it and see what happens.

reformatted the hard drive, reinstalled microstudio, it now works, but is there a way to increase the write time to cd. My cdr is capable of 12X.

Make sure that you have the DMA turned on, which I think under XP requires installing updated drivers for the Motherboard Chipset.

I would try to update your ASPI drivers first, you can do that from: http://www.mtu.com/vbulletin/showthr...p?threadid=493

Or make sure that your speed is changed under the Drives Menu, Speed Selection. I recommend setting this to AUTO for Read and Write, which will go as fast as the drive will allow it.
