Unhappy cdg certifed burner

The new Pioneer DVR-K06 I purchased from MTU and installed in my laptop keeps coming up under Microstudio as unable to do karaoke. In my hoster, I tried it, and it did read one of my disks and did write the song in my files with no problem. So therefore, I know that it will read/write karaoke in hoster.

What do I do in Microstudio to get it to realize that this disk is capable. I cannot burn personal disks with specific songs because it refuses to "list" my burner. I do not have anything set on my computer to autoplay....what next?
Thanks
Dan Carey

First question is what versions of Hoster and Microstudio are you using? For the Plextor PX-760 to work with those programs you should have Hoster 3.300 or higher and Microstudio 2.612 or 2.613.

If you have those versions then check this knowledge base article for other causes.

Sorry I missed the "laptop" in your first post. No software is needed for installing a cd drive.
A couple of things come to mind for this. First make sure Autorun is turned off.
Second make sure that none of the burner programs are set to run at start up. These you can find by right clicking on Start. Then click on Explore All Users. Then open Programs/startup and delete any shortcuts to Nero or Roxio. Reboot your computer and see if the drive shows up.

I tried that...still says it is not able to do cdgs. It is a Pioneer DVR K06 according to the profile. I bought it from MTU and it is supposed to be certified, but nothing I do gets it to work. I've not been able to find any help from MTU on this.

Have you tried this drive with both Hoster and MicroStudio or just MicroStudio?
The reason I ask is there is a statement on the sales page that says
"IMPORTANT NOTE: Microstudio 2.613 does NOT currently support this drive."

Version 2.613 of MicroStudio is the currently released version meaning it won't work with MicroStudio until the next upgrade is released.

Hoster on the other hand should recognize it as long as you have 3.303 or greater. The latest being 3.310. If it also isn't recognizing the drive, I would suggest uninstalling Hoster and re-install it.

The current version of Microstudio does not support this drive as stated in the product description quite clearly by the fine folks at MTU. There is nothing that can be done until the next upgrade is released.

Thanks for your help and understanding. I did not see that and of course, just assumed if I bought it from MTU it would work with everything I had. I will just wait for the next version! Again..thank you so much.

Our "target" release date for Microstudio 3.000 is the end of August... this month. We are close, but there is one killer problem we haven't solved yet, that must be solved to release.

It will be able to use this drive for reading and writing CDG discs.
