4.000 Work with more drives?? Cant't tell with Demo

When I purchased 3.004, it had problems with a usb drive that I had purchased. Some songs would not play fully or import fully. I was told to wait for 4.000, that it might work better with my drive. Because of the Demo hampering, the imports that I get with the demo are even less than what I was getting so I have no idea whether 4.000 works better with my drive or not!

Was 4.000 configured to work better with more drives than 3.004?

Thumbs up

I have seven drives total. Three of them wouldn't work before but they will all work now.

Thanks for the info

Thanks for responding. I'm optimistic that my drive will work. Actually I was about to go ahead and order 4.000 after posting the thread, but I couldn't install keyrite on my laptop, which is the computer I want to install 4.000 on. (Something about number of computers) So I'm waiting for something from MTU Support.

Thanks again

Drive still is not working properly

I installed Microstudio 4.000

Well, my drive which is a USB HP dvd840e is still having the same problem. Well, no biggy. I found another drive for a good bargain at Fry's and it works, even with the prior version.

Re Keyrite- Apparently, I didn't have to have keyrite installed on the machine for the play function to change the key during performance-saving a file would probably need keyrite

Updates in Place

Thank you for your response. Is your HP Internal or External? My drive is USB This drive does work with some clean original discs. My "test" disc is a copy of one of my Garth Brooks discs. My other drive copies all songs completely, this one does not. I'm a teacher thinking of organizing a club or something and my feeling is that I want students who might bring me a disc, copy or original, to be able to sing. My other drive will do that.

Maybe it's a disc problem or maybe it's the fact that this was a refurbished drive (with rebate it was only $40)

Anyway, firmware and windows are updated. Again, thanks.

If this is the case and Larry has same model and it works I would really suspect that refurbished drive. Maybe it wasn't such a good bargain after all.

You might be right.

If I ignore the cdg aspect of things, this drive has done everything I ask it to including ripping and writing backup copies of my dvd's. But I found this non-refurbished drive by Memorex at a price that is close to the bargain I just mentioned, and like I say, it seems to do everything. So I have a drive that does seemingly everything everywhere I go, and one that does everything (except cdg) wherever I go for a total of about $100. Somehow I will find a way to take advantage of my many blessings!!

This one is only $129.00 and tested to do cdg from MTU. That way you know it works good.

Two (one and three fourths) for less than the price of one.

Well I wouldn't have kept my second one unless it worked. The store I bought it from has a good return policy. I had already passed the deadline with my first one. But certainly MTU sells quality tested stuff. I've purchased drives from them before and been very happy. You gotta be careful getting materials from someone else.
