Cd burner upgrade

How to upgrade my cd/dvd burner. When I open microstudio sometimes it shows the message That I might need to upgrade the drive

Go to the web site of the manufacturer of your drive then download and install the latest drivers for your model. See if that makes the message stop. I've never seen it before.

Since it says "might", I wouldn't worry about getting a new drive unless you are having problems.

(This board is for questions about for Hoster, not Microstudio. )

Thanks for the back up Dale, I was quite tired whe I typed my response. UPGRADING THE FIRMWARE IS #2 ON MY "BE SURE TO:" LIST.

Moved this to the CD-Recorders Forum.

As the gentlemen here have pointed out, we're not familiar with that error message.

Can you access the drive in Widows Media Player, or other "disc" programs?

What version of Microstudio are you running (Help menu > About.... command will tell you)?

What is your drive manufacturer and model number? I"m brain dead tonight and can't find in Control Panel where to find this. Maybe someone else can give instructions.

Drive Mfg and Model can be found easist by opening Microstudio, got to Tools/Default Drive. That will list your drive and even the firmware version.
