Udated and Now Have Problems

Since I installed the lastest version, 4.003, I have had had problems with writing to disc. I can play files both from CD, and from the computer, by moving them to the "Play List", and I can move songs to the "Add To Write Disc" from the "Play List", but when I select "Write CD" the disc produced contains the last song on the selected "Write List" duplicated over and over for as many times as the number of songs on the list. In others words the copied disk contains only one song repeated as many times as songs on the list.

I've also noticed the one of my drives, Plextor PX-716A - 1.04 never finishes writing and will not eject the disk until I power down my computer. My Sony will eject the disk, but but I have the same repeat the last track over and over.

Help!

The newer Microstudio requires windows updates that were not necessary with the older versions.

Here's a link to the Microsoft Windows update page. Be sure to use CUSTOM, and take them all. Don't use EXPRESS update as you may not get the ones you need if you use EXPRESS.

Hope this gets you going.

George,

I followed your advice and download Microsoft updates except for IE7. I then tried again with the same results, so I uninstalled ver. 4.003 and reinstalled ver. 4.000. My problem has disappeared. Not sure what the newer version does, but I'll stay with the "old" version for now, it works.

Thanks,
Wes

Thumbs down new update not working

I'm having the same problem with the 4004 update. It won't write anymore. I just did all the windows update. Just bought DVD/cdr from MTU. It worked until the update What gives.

What type of files are you both trying to write to CD? By any chance are they Songverted files or straight imports from Hoster or Microstudio?

I had the same issues just recently and I updated my XP as Dale suggested. He also suggested I make sure I had the most current Firmware for my new drive. I also purchased that drive from MTU and after doing both of these things I am working fine. You may want to check your firmware version.

Jim,
Is that one of the Optiarc drives? What version of firmware are you using and where did you find it?

Wes, if you are using ZIP files or KMA HDZIP type files, then there was a bug in 4.003 that duplicated the last ZIP song for all other ZIP songs in that Write Disc List. It is documented here.

The other friends answering here are also right; you need to update your Burner drivers and all Windows CUSTOM Updates.
