error reading device

i formated my hdd reinstaled windows etc. reinstalled microstudio. now i get message when i try to open microstuidio, message says error reading device. help please. i dont think its my microstudio, thanks

A "device" would be hardware of some kind. What exactly does the message say?

Have you done all the updating from Microsoft Windows Updates? Reloaded all of the drivers for your hardware?

error reading device

thanks for your reply the message is in a box at the top left of that box it says wnaspint in the box it says error=1 hope that helps

What version of Microstudio did you load? This sounds like the ASPI driver is the problem and that would effect older versions of Microstudio.

There is a knowledge base article in the Support Center that deals with this and has a couple of links to drivers you can download and install. One of them should fix it.

Yes that version does use the ASPI. So find that article, download and install one. If that one doesn't work then try the other one.

If you can't get it to work, buy the 3.004 version, it is much better and really worth it.


It gets rid of all the older ASPI Headaches.
