4.23 microstudio won't install on new computer

I just purchased the version 4.23 of microstudio less than a year ago...i bought a new computer and uninstalled it from the old computer and tried to install it on the new one...it's telling me that verson 4.23 was replaced by 4.24 and tells me to download 4.24 from the site. I don't see a way to download 4.24 without purchasing the upgrade and my 4.23 is less than a year old. Am I expected to purchase a new version already or is there a way to download 4.24 and use my registration code from the 4.23? I'm stuck until I can figure this out. Thanks!

Re: 4.23 microstudio won't install on new computer

I believe You should be able upgrade any of the MTU programs if you bought the original within 12 months so check the date of your original install from your account.

Are you trying to install from the upgrade page which is here: http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/microstudio.htm

Then press the upgrade button for 4.24, when the Save or run option shows select Save when it completes select Run and enter your registration info you used for 4.23, it will check all the information you enter and either install or inform you that your upgrade time has expired and how much an upgrade is.

If you choose not to upgrade you should still be able to load your existing version providing you saved the original file.
Do you not have the original 4.23 installation file ?
You are advised to choose the save option when you first download the program, not the run option. So you should have chosen a folder to save the "mstudio423setup.exe" file to on your computer so if you download your programs to a certain folder look in there for it. If you can find that file on your other computer then copy it to your new computer and start it from there entering all your previous registration details you had before and it should register OK.

Re: 4.23 microstudio won't install on new computer

Well, I will try the ugrade feature you mentioned. I actually have 4.23 on a disc that I purchased from MTU. When I try to install it from the disc it starts the install and then says that 4.23 was replaced by 4.24 so I will need to download 4.24 from the site.

Re: 4.23 microstudio won't install on new computer

I just tried installing 4.23 from my own saved version and received the screen informing me that I need to upgrade like you said.
So that surprised me.
If the upgrade to 4.24 doesn't work for you let us know and I will inform support about your problem.

Thanks for checking. I actually followed your advice and downloaded the upgrade and it did allow me to put in my code from 4.23 and it worked just fine. Thanks again!
