Microstudio 4.24 has problems

I upgraded to Microstudio version 4.24 today and now no lyrics show up when I play a CDG song!

It was working perfectly a couple of hours before the upgrade.

Can anyone help me here?

Have you checked Tools/Default drive press the retest button then save ?
Sometimes you need to reboot the computer after an install.

Is this while playing a CD direct in the drive ?

I was going to install this on my Windows 7 (64 bit) and see if I could duplicate this, but alas I have run out of installs and will have to get that reset.

One other thing...

After I posted last night, I went back and tried it again and a few times the songs graphics would flash by on the screen in about 5 seconds and then it would crash!

I can confirm this version is not showing graphic images when playing tracks from the hard drive. I tried it with .kma and Zip type it does play direct from disc OK. One other thing it is crashing if I switch from CDG to Files on the Karaoke side.

I have only just installed this version 4.24, the 4.23 version operated OK.

Go back and re-install 4.23. I don't know what happened here but I cannot get any graphics either on KMA files from harddrive. I am reporting this to MTU and going to have them pull it from downloads.

Problem is noted. I've shifted all resources to work on this first thing tomorrow AM. Since this has not been out very long, we will not increment it to version 4.24, but instead add a "." at the end of the number in the Help menu "About..." dialog. We'll send a notice to those who installed 4.24 to come and redownload, then UPGRADE it.

WIth the changes we added, I have no idea how we broke playing graphics.

Did this ever get resolved? 4.24 also put the PFC.sys back in. Wouldn't hurt to fix that while you're at it.

Yes it has been fixed and re-released already. Fixed version has version number 4.24. rather than just 4.24 so if you do not have a period on the end of vesrsion number in the About Microstudio then you need to re-download and install.

I just checked and no PFC.sys added with my install of either release of 4.24 on my laptop. So I don't know where you got it this time.

Sorry, I guess they didn't get the notice out. I got notice as I tested it to make sure that video was working.

There are no monthly updates for Microstudio, so there is no .07 on the end of the version number. Only Hoster has .07 for the monthly update of the bucket information.
The version number would be "4.24." if you look at it through the Help/About Microstudio.

I don't to dispute you, but when I downloaded it this afternoon, it shows "mstudio424.07setup" in my download folder...

I installed it and the graphics work fine now!

I can confirm that the downloaded .exe file is named mstudio424.07setup but from the About Microstudio it shows 4.24. with the period added.

Shy of upping the version to 4.25, there is no easy way for us to replace the code. Since very few users had downloaded the "bad" 4.24, we chose to just replace the installation file you download. Sorry for the confusion.

FYI... ALL MTU software today has a .xx "month" indicator on it. We change the month only when we release a version in that month.

We do update the .xx monthly for Hoster, including the newest Import Database (bucket.mdb). When we offer a "bug fix" on Hoster, such as:

502.06 (Release Date) June 30 2011 (Install Date) Apr 25, 2011

that includes the same Import Database as 500.04, and the same Install Date so anyone who has 5.00 can install this version of 5.02 for free. The 502.07 version has the newer Import Database, and a later Install Date as a result.
