Upgraded from 98 to 2000: registration now not valid

Hello,

I've just purchased MTU MS and having successfully installed on windows 98, I started to run into problems with my shiny new Plextor USB writer being recognised.

So, I've upgraded the machine to 2000 for full USB, and now MTU MS does not run.

The message, "Error: Your serial number does not match your registration information. Please reinstall" has appeared.

Have now removed MTU MS, and am now reinstalling. Am using a floppy this time as don't have the 2000 modem drivers at hand.

Now I'm apparently unable to connect to the Internet (even though I'm writing this post).

Any suggestions from anyone over the weekend?

Thanks,

Nick

Well guess what, I reinstalled the thing and it works.

I feel a bit silly here. My excuse is that I've had experience of these 'copy protection' systems that leave you high and dry the moment you do anything to the system.

With apologies,

Nick, EPV

Nick,

No need to feel silly. In the computer world, you can olways expect the unexpected. Things go wrong and somethimes, these things fix themselves.

Good luck,

Jon
