Hosting Small Parties with Microstudio
Hi Ya'll:
I'm interested in downloading all my karaoke disks to my hard drive and then using some sort of software to play the songs. We are not professional KJ's. We only do karoake for home use and the occasional personal party. I want to start using my laptop computer with external hard drive so that I don't have to mess with disks anymore. There is a small restaurant that does karaoke once every two weeks and they use Microstudio as their hosting software. They have all the songs on their hard drive and they use Microstudio to create play lists of requested songs so there is little to no delay between songs. It seems to work out well for them. What are the draw backs to using Microstudio as hosting software? Thanks, Rose **** |

I would use the Hoster Lite Software.
The Microstudio is made for burning and that is all.

Microstudio is designed to make CDG disc backup copies and custom assembly discs, and launch our other programs that either need to process songs that are imported, or to write processed songs back to CDG/CD discs. The player was initially designed ONLY to allow reviewing the quality of imported songs before burning them to a custom disc.

Go to this page:
http://www.mtu.com/basics/karaoke-hosterlite.htm All of the features listed there are reasons to use HOSTER LITE, for even the smallest of hosting venues. You'll see that Microstudio does not have near the features which should help answer your question regarding drawbacks using Microstudio to host a show. I don't think you can go wrong for the money with Hoster Lite. I hope this helps answer your question. George |
